Manaal Relief Foundation (MRF) organized a high-level consultation meeting in Garowe with FGM stakeholders, including the FGM Task Force and local partners.

The purpose was to align efforts with the Puntland Ministry of Women Development and Family Affairs on harmonized awareness messages for FGM prevention.

The meeting focused on integrating psychological impacts of FGM into awareness campaigns, emphasizing the connection between FGM and mental health.

MRF committed to supporting local and international efforts through Puntland’s “FGM Zero Tolerance Policy” and will implement mixed advocacy campaigns across Puntland, particularly in hard-to-reach areas. This initiative is part of the GIZ-funded FGM Prevention Program in the Nugaal region.
