MRF Conducts FGM Prevention Project for Community-Based Awareness in Nugaal Region

Manaal Relief Foundation (MRF), in collaboration with the Ministry of Women Development and Family Affairs (MoWDAFA), conducted FGM prevention awareness sessions in Birtadheer Kalabayr and Sinujiif villages of Garowe District, Nugaal region.

The campaign focused on raising awareness of the psychological impact of FGM, engaging women, grandmothers, influencers, and local schools in advocacy efforts. This initiative is part of the GIZ-supported FGM COIN-Fund Prevention program, aiming to strengthen community-level FGM awareness and prevention efforts across Puntland. German International Cooperation, GIZ This project partnership aims at improving FGM awareness-raising and information initiatives at the community level.
